Air Liquide technology implemented at coast LNG depot in Sardinia

Sardinia’s first liquified natural gas (LNG) storage facility is now complete – and it features Air Liquide’s Turbo-Brayton cryogenic technology.

The industrial gas giant on Wednesday (4th August) said its technology had been selected by Gas and Heat to keep the produced LNG in a liquid state at the storage site on the island.

Once fully operational, the terminal aims to supply natural gas to produce the energy needed by local industries to fuel trucks and refuel ships.

Manufactured in the workshops of Air Liquide’s Campus Technologies Grenoble in 2020, the cryogenic unit joined the Sardinian coastal depot at the end of the year.
