Air Liquide to build biomethane stations for Asda

Air Liquide has teamed up with UK-based supermarket chain Asda, a wholly owned subsidiary of Walmart, to install and operate six biomethane distribution stations to refuel trucks on its sites.

Due to be operational by the first quarter of 2021, the new stations for Asda will help power more than 300 new BioNVG trucks that Asda will commission this year as part of an effort to reduce the environmental footprint of its transport activities.

In a statement, Air Liquide said it will install and operate the stations on six of Asda’s 15 sites.

“We are very pleased to support our customers who choose renewable fuels to reduce their emissions,” said Emilie Mouren-Renouard, Member of the Air Liquide Executive Committee, in charge of Innovation, Digital & IT, Intellectual Property and Global Markets & Technologies World Business Unit.
