Air Liquide to construct a €70m gases plant in Wuhan, China

Air Liquide will invest approximately €70m in a new state-of-the-art gases plant in Wuhan, Central China, to produce 52,00 Nm3 of nitrogen an hour, as well as oxygen, argon and other ultra-high purity gases.

Confirming the news today (28th June), the industrial gas giant said the plant will supply a major memory chipmaker, having already signed a long-term supply agreement.

It is hoped that the plant will be operational next year (2022).

Commenting on the development, François Abrial, Member of the Air Liquide Group’s Executive Committee supervising Asia Pacific, said, “Wuhan, where Air Liquide has been present since 2007, is a key electronics basin for the Group.”
