Argentine steel manufacturer, Siderar, has been rewarded with a new ASU after handing Air Liquide another commercial success.
The gas giant, Air Liquide, was awarded a renewal for the period of 15 years as well as an extension of agreement for Siderars San Nicolas site located 200 km north of Buenos Aires.
Air Liquide will deliver 1,900 tonnes of oxygen a day and will also supply nitrogen, argon and compressed air. To do this, the company will install a new air separation unit (ASU) with a capacity of 350 tpd at the San Nicolas site. This will supplement the existing installation and will be operational in October 2006.
Pierre Dufour, executive vice-president, and member of Air Liquides Executive Committee, declared: “In the 70 countries where we are present, we accompany our customers in their development by offering custom-made solutions which help to strengthen their efficiency while at the same time respecting the environment. This important success reinforces our positions in Argentina and South America, demonstrating the dynamism and efficiency of our teams and the quality of the relations we forge with our customers, in particular, in the field of steel and metals manufacturing, throughout the world.”
