Air Products’ multi-million-dollar hydrogen complex in Alberta, Canada, has received the Best Carbon Management Initiative Award from Chemical Week at the Chemical Industry Financial Outlook Forum and Sustainability Awards.
First unveiled in June (2021), the $1.3bn hydrogen project is set to showcase hydrogen as a key enabler for Canada to achieve carbon neutrality by 2050. Further to that, the plans set the stage for Air Products to be at the heart of one of the most competitive markets.
The industrial gas giant was one of six companies to be recognised during the 2021 Chemical Week Sustainability Awards. Those who entered for the Best Carbon Management Initiative Award were judged by a panel of industry and sustainability experts.
Speaking during Chemical Week, Seifi Ghasemi, Chairman, President and CEO of Air Products, said, “We have made tremendous investments to help build the hydrogen economy.”
