Air Products has signed a $75m deal to supply NASA with seven and a half million pounds of liquid hydrogen.
Hydrogen supplied by the industrial gas giant will support operations at the space agency’s Kennedy Space Centre in Florida and the nearby Cape Canaveral Space Force Station.
The contract begins on 9th December and consists of a base period and one option period that, if exercised, would extend the deal to 30th November 2025.
NASA uses liquid hydrogen, combined with liquid oxygen, as fuel in cryogenic rocket engines, and the commodity’s unique properties support the development of aeronautics.
