Air Products launch new hydrogen refueling station

Air Products has officially unveiled its new hydrogen refuelling station at the University of California’s Irvine campus.

The 700-bar fuelling station is billed as a step forward in the hydrogen refuelling market with $quot;advancements$quot; in capability and the privileged position of being the first project in the US to be established at a site with wider accessibility. It it’s now hoped that this move towards greater access to hydrogen technology will allow for wider fuel cell vehicle demonstrations.

Scott Samuelsen, director of the University of California, Irvine’s (UCI’s) National Fuel Cell Research Centre, said that hydrogen refuelling is a growing market and it was important to remain at the forefront of fuel cell development saying, $quot;People see California as the testing ground for next-generation automobile technologies.$quot;

$quot;The shift to a hydrogen economy is not an incremental change to society, but rather a dramatic and fundamental shift in the way that individuals will operate their vehicles in the future.$quot;
