Zbigniew Zurecki, Senior Research Associate for Air Products’ Advanced Technology Group, was recently honored by ASM International, the world’s largest association of metals-focused materials professionals, as a 2015 Fellow of the Society.
He is among 30 members named this year to the 46th Class of Fellows, which recognizes members for their distinguished contributions to materials science, engineering or manufacturing, as well as their exemplary personal reputations. Zurecki has been recognized by colleagues for his conceptualization and sustained development of cleaner, safer, and environmentally-friendlier alternatives to many conventional methods of processing metals resulting in improved product quality and increased productivity of industrial operations.
“This is a well-deserved recognition that shows Zbig is as well respected by his industry peers as he is by his colleagues at Air Products for his leadership and contributions,” said Rana Ghosh, Applications R&D Manager at Air Products.
Zurecki has dedicated the last 30 years of his career to the conceptualization and development of new industrial gas application technologies for the heat treating, powder and process metallurgy, thermal spray coatings, oxyfuel combustion, metal forming, and electronic packaging industries. Zurecki earned an MSME in Materials & Industrial Engineering from the Warsaw University of Technology, holds approximately 37 patents, and has authored numerous publications.
