Air Products has signed a multimillion-dollar contract with AT&T. The company will provide a global Internet Protocol Virtual Private Network (IPVPN) integrating nearly 500 company locations in 30 countries.
AT&T also will provide custom network management, including monitoring of routers and switches, as well as data transport. The contract expands a longstanding relationship between the two companies.
AT&T will convert Air Products’ sites in the Americas, Europe, Africa, Asia and the Middle East to multi-protocol label switching (MPLS) technology, enabling seamless integration of legacy technologies onto a standardised platform.
AT&T’s management of the network includes fault monitoring and proactive suggestions based on usage that will improve network performance. The network also provides business continuity and disaster recovery capabilities for Air Products’ three hub locations in Singapore, the United Kingdom and the United States.
