Airline conglomerate Airbus is to partner with oxygen technology experts Caeli Nova to improve onboard passenger oxygenation during rare emergency decompression events.
Caeli Nova’s patented emergency oxygen system, Cordillera, is able to optimise both passenger oxygenation and payload planning, in addition to reducing the aircraft’s carbon footprint.
The technology enables the aircraft to safely divert at a higher altitude and operate a more direct air route, reducing flight times and therefore fuel usage and carbon emissions.
Having focused on building a team to collaborate on such partnerships, Tim Wakeford, CEO, Caeli Nova, said, “We will be bringing this agile approach to our work with Airbus and look forward to seeing the results.”
