Tier One player Airgas has donated a substantial amount of personal protective equipment (PPE) to students enrolled in the welding engineering programme at Ferris State University (FSU), Michigan.
The donation of PPE reinforces the corporate partnership between the industrial gas corporation and the school’s welding programme, after donating shielding gas to the course in 2015.
The haul, valued at around $50,000, includes enough welding jackets, hoods, gloves and safety glasses for each of the students registered for one year. Each individual PPE kit can set a student back several hundred dollars.
