Airgas has signed a five-year contract with the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), to provide the agency with Standard Reference Material (SRM) gas mixtures.
NIST is an agency within the US Department of Commerce, and certifies the concentration and consistency of SRM gas mixtures, as well as providing SRMs worldwide for use in calibrating instruments, such as Continuous Emissions Monitors (CEMs).
“NIST SRMs are the yardstick by which all other gas mixtures are measured,” said Bob Davis, Director of Utilities at Airgas.
“Airgas has made a significant investment in technology over the past few years in order to engineer the most accurate calibration standards available, and we are pleased to now supply NIST with gas samples used in producing their SRMs.”
