Applied LNG announced today that construction has started on the first liquefaction train of its Midlothian LNG Plant. Applied LNG recently closed a $22.5m senior secured loan to complete the funding of this project.
Applied LNG’s President and CEO, Cem Hacioglu, remarked, “We are excited to begin construction of the first of six liquefiers we will build in Midlothian. This facility will provide the State of Texas and the surrounding areas with much needed supply of environmentally friendly and economically beneficial LNG from a reliable source.”
The first liquefaction train at the Midlothian Plant is expected to be completed in mid-2015. This will be the company’s third liquefier along with the two currently in operation in Topock, Arizona, and will increase Applied LNG’s production capacity to 258,000 LNG gallons per day.
