Atlanta Gas Light has doubled capacity at its liquified natural gas (LNG) facility in Cherokee County, Georgia, US, as it looks to stay ahead of projected demands in the years to come.
In order to double its facility, Atlanta Gas Light has said it will install a second LNG tank to store gas when it is most affordable and then have access to the supply during periods of peak demand.
Construction is already underway, and installation will be completed over the next three years.
Pedro Cherry, President and CEO of Atlanta Gas Light, said, “LNG storage is a valuable asset for our system that affords us more flexibility to meet the increasing demand for natural gas from our customers.”
