Atlas Copco acquires Montana Instruments

Atlas Copco has acquired Montana Instruments Corporation and once again expanded its North American footprint.

Located in Bozeman, Montana, the purchased company provides cryostat solutions for customers involved in physics research and low temperature technology solutions.

A cryostat is a system used to cool an object to very low temperature and enable measurement of various properties.

Montana Instrument’s cryostats can attain temperatures down to -269°C (-425°F) without the use of liquid cryogens. Cryostats are typically used to observe and characterise quantum physics in cold materials.
