BCGA issues safety guidelines on gas cylinder and bundle movement

Industrial gas safety organisation the British Compressed Gases Association (BCGA) has released new guidelines for moving gas cylinders and bundles within the workplace.

The new Technical Information Sheet (TIS) 38 provides essential information on the different methods available to safely carry out the movement of gas cylinders and bundles.

In particular, the guidelines detail that manual handling of cylinders by rolling on the base, or ‘churning,’ is limited to distances of less than five metres for a single vessel only.
