BMW targets Hydrogen 7 improvements

BMW has been hard at work on a prototype of its super-eco-friendly vehicle, the Hydrogen 7 and is targeting improvements to the clean machine’s engine and fuel tank.

Recent tests on the Hydrogen 7 have been extremely promising, with it proving to be one of the lowest emitting combustion engine vehicles manufactured. The engine actively cleans the air, with the emissions sometimes actually cleaner than the air that entered the car.

Member of the Board of Management, Stefan Krause, indicated recently that BMW was committed to researching new materials for a lighter fuel tank, high performance engine, and advanced energy management with small fuel cells.

The hydrogen powered vehicle can also run on regular gasoline at the push of a button, recognising that hydrogen isn’t that easy to come by at gas stations yet, and although the vehicles are not manufactured on a commercial basis, BMW nonetheless introduced a fleet last year for the privileged use of selected personalities.
