Gases and engineering company BOC Australia and APA Group successfully injected natural gas into a section of the Whyalla Natural Gas network at 5pm yesterday to deliver critical gas supplies to Whyalla Hospital and parts of Whyalla.
BOC’s expert technicians reacted quickly to drive an innovative LNG tanker from Victoria after a branch line off the Moomba-Adelaide pipeline ruptured on Sunday evening.
BOC’s LNG tankers can convert the liquefied natural gas they carry into natural gas. This BOC gas is now being injected into a section of the Whyalla gas network.
Alex Dronoff, BOC General Manager LNG explained the priority was supply for Whyalla Hospital.
