BOC employee wins medal

BOC employee Matt French secured a Silver medal for clay pigeon shooting at the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow.

In the finals of the double trap shooting event at Carnoustie, French was up against his England teammate Steve Scott and India’s Mohd Asab in an exciting three way shoot-out. French came a very close second to Scott, scoring 29 to Scott’s 30 out of 30.

When he’s not winning medals, Matt works as a Vehicle Maintenance Technician for BOC, the UK & Ireland’s largest supplier of industrial gases and related equipment, and is based at a production site in Thame, Oxfordshire.

Matt’s boss, Mark Beal, BOC’s Regional Engineer, Transport, commented, “It’s very exciting to have someone competing at that sort of level. Matt’s ambition in sport feeds through to his work ethic. He shows dedication and commitment and is a great asset to the company.”
