BOC Gases has recently signed a multi-year contract with Gerdau Ameristeel, worth over $20m.
BOC will support Gerdau’s plans to increase the steel mills long term competitive position by constructing an air separation unit.
The ASU will provide the Knoxville mill with 130 tons per day of gaseous oxygen and nitrogen.
The Knoxville mill, which is just one of four Gerdau steel mills under multi-year contracts in the US, recycles scrap metal to produce long products, such as plain rounds for customers.
