Global oxygen equipment manufacturer CAIRE Inc. (CAIRE) has announced that it will acquire non-invasive cardiorespiratory diagnostic systems manufacturer MGC Diagnostics Holdings (MGC), expanding its existing portfolio of health technology solutions.
Considered a leading global player in the cardiorespiratory diagnostics sector, the Minnesota, US-based MGC designs, develops, manufactures and markets non-invasive systems, accessories and consumables for the detection, classification and management of cardiorespiratory disease.
Across its facilities in Belgium, Germany, France and Australia the company also offers pulmonary function testing systems, cardiopulmonary exercise systems, spirometers, flow sensors, gas analysers and associated consumables.
The third leading cause of death worldwide, Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) affects 65 million patients globally, with diagnoses accelerated by an increasingly aging population. Combined with the 300m patients worldwide who suffer from asthma, these populations are responsible for more than $100bn annually in healthcare spending.
