Gas analysis expert Cambridge Sensotec has developed a fully-portable multigas analyser, with gas sensing configurations selected to suit biogas and syngas applications.
The Rapidox 5100 Multigas Analyser, which is based on the same technology as the UK-based company’s flagship Rapidox 7100 Multigas Analyser, can analyse up to six compatible gases simultaneously and can operate continuously for up to eight hours.
Measurable gases include carbon dioxide (CO2), carbon monoxide (CO), oxygen (O2), hydrogen (H2) and hydrogen sulphide (H2S), amongst others. In addition, each gas sensor is specially calibrated in order to avoid potential interference effects with the background sample gas.
A press release explained, “When configured for applications where the gases contain energy, such as biogas and syngas, the calorific value of the gas sample is determined using thermodynamic calculations and simultaneously logged and displayed on the Rapidox 5100 portable multigas analyser.”
