Carbon-neutral LNG to be supplied from Ichthys LNG Project

A shipment of carbon-neutral liquefied natural gas (LNG) is to be supplied from the INPEX-operated Ichthys LNG Project (the Project) to Japanese gas company TOHO GAS.

To be delivered to Chita LNG Terminal in Chita City, Aichi Prefecture, Japan, on September 18th, 2021, the LNG shipment’s carbon footprint has been offset using Verified Carbon Standard-approved carbon credits.

The Project is part of INPEX’s goals to achieve net zero carbon emissions by 2050, as laid out in its ‘Business Development Strategy – Towards a Net Zero Carbon Society by 2050’.
