CarbonCure aims to remove 500m tonnes of CO2 by 2030

The final speaker of gasworld’s ‘Europe CO2 Summit 2022’, Rob Niven – Chair and CEO of CarbonCure Technologies, discussed CarbonCure’s efforts to remove 500 million tonnes of CO2 annually by 2030.

Providing context, Niven stated that cement is responsible for around 7% of annual global greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, primarily due to process emissions. 

“Cement makes up only 12% of the weight of concrete, but is responsible for 95% of concrete’s carbon footprint, revealed Niven.
