The Global Cement and Concrete Association and Clean Energy Ministerial CCUS have agreed to scale up the deployment of carbon capture, utilisation and storage (CCUS) technologies.
The two organisations will work together to ensure the long-term deployment of CCUS, beyond 2030, via both policy and technological development, amid growing calls to accelerate decarbonisation efforts.
Thomas Guillot, CEO of the Global Cement and Concrete Association, said it sees carbon capture as a vital lever for the global cement industry to achieve its ambitious goal of net-zero concrete by 2050.
