Building materials company CEMEX, a multinational with a head office near Monterrey in Mexico, will inject hydrogen into cement kilns at four of its cement plants in Mexico as it looks to become a Net Zero business.
It is hoped the move will optimise the combustion process and increase the company’s use of alternative fuels and, in turn, decrease its reliance of fossil fuels.
Ricardo Naya, President of CEMEX Mexico, said he hopes the move will allow CEMEX to increase its alternative fuels consumption in its kilns by 8-10%.
