CF Industries, ExxonMobil and EnLink Midstream are teaming up in a ‘landmark’ emissions-reduction project in Louisiana.
CF Industries is investing $200m to build a carbon dioxide (CO2) dehydration and compression unit at its Donaldsonville facility to enable captured CO2 to be transported and stored.
ExxonMobil will transport the captured CO2 it owns in its 125,000-acre storage site in Vermilion Parish and use EnLink’s network, whose pipelines cover 4,000 miles in the state, to deliver CO2 to permanent geologic storage.
Ultimate available reserved capacity under the agreement is up to 10m MT per year, with initial reserved capacity of 3.2m MT annually, beginning early 2025.
