Chart Industries has stated it is proud that it and its employees participated in the Comfort Crew for Military Kids Project recently.
The Comfort Crew is a non-profit organisation that supports and works directly with thousands of military kids with the challenges of today’s military life, including deployment, reintegration, visible and invisible injuries, and grief. Military families with kids six and older who have had a loved one deployed with the US Military are offered a wide range of comfort kits and educational resources that are customised to meet their specific needs.
Employees in Chart’s corporate office in Garfield Heights, Ohio, participated by purchasing materials for and assembling 200 kits to be distributed to military children. Each kit included and animated With You All The Way DVD, a writing journal, caregiver booklet, set of ten postcards, and a plush bear. The employees also wrote personal notes to the children and their families to include in their kits.
The Chart volunteers were joined by Sgt. Nathan Wagner, from the US Army 112th Engineer Battalion. Sgt. Wagner has a nine-year-old daughter and he talked about his and his family’s experience with deployment issues.
