Chart Industries have designed and built the world’s largest shop-built cryogenic storage tanks, which have been shipped from the Czech Republic to Germany.
The three giant cryogenic storage containers were loaded onto individual barges in the Rozbelesy port in the Czech Republic.
The vessels, which were built at the Chart facility in Decin, are all destined for the German port of Hamburg via the Elbe river, approximately 160 miles away.
Miroslav Cerny, Business Director for Chart, commented, “These particular units will be used for the storage of liquefied natural gas (LNG) for a gas fuelled power station, but our proximity to the river connects Chart Ferox to our global customer base and enables us to offer the world’s largest cryogenic storage tanks as a standard product, for both LNG and air gas applications.”
