All five of Chart’s 1000m3 capacity cryogenic storage tanks, otherwise known as ‘Decinske Giants’, are now installed at Lithuania’s LNG reloading and bunkering station in readiness for scheduled commercial operation later in the year.
Chart had already delivered three of the Decinske Giants cryogenic vessels at the site in February.
The station is aimed at creating a small-scale LNG operational infrastructure and establishing the port of Klaipėda as an LNG hub for the Baltic countries and north-eastern Poland. The overall plant design also incorporates provision for future expansion and doubling of the current storage capacity.
