Chesterfield Special Cylinders (CSC) has been awarded a contract by integrated energy provider EDF Energy to test the gas storage facilities at its UK nuclear power plants.
Under the contract, CSC will conduct the safety-critical inspection, testing and refurbishment of EDF Energy’s high pressure gas storage facilities for the latter’s Heysham 2 and Torness nuclear power plants.
CSC, a gas containment solutions specialist, will remove, inspect, test, refurbish and re-install each set of gas cylinders in turn at each site, enabling EDF Energy’s systems to continue uninterrupted.
