A carbon dioxide (CO2) recovery and liquefaction plant has officially started commercial operations at Neste’s renewable products refinery in Singapore.
Although construction was completed at the end of 2015, the plant officially started operations on 28th March 2016. Since then, the plant has been recovering CO2-containing crude gas, which is released as a by-product of Neste’s renewable fuel refining process.
On average, the facility recovers an average of 35-40 tonnes of CO2 each day, but is expected to reach full capacity in the coming months. As a result, the Finnish company will supply the plant with an estimated 30,000 tonnes of CO2-containing crude gas annually.
