CO2 Solutions Inc., a Canadian carbon capture company, has been awarded a $3m grant to deploy technology for its carbon capture plant at the Fibrek General Partnership pulp mill in Québec.
News of CO2 Solutions’ new carbon capture plant was first revealed in August this year. The corporation was since selected on 14th December by the Bureau de l’efficacité et de l’innovation énergétiques (Technoclimat) to receive the non-refundable, multi-million-dollar grant for the project.
The plant, designed and constructed by CO2 Solutions, will capture up to 30 tonnes of CO2 per day from Resolute’s softwood kraft pulp mill in Saint-Félicien, which will then be transported and reused on a commercial basis in Serres Toundra’s neighbouring vegetable greenhouse.
