Commercial operations have officially commenced at Weil Group Resources and Linde Engineering’s unique helium (He) purification facility in Saskatchewan, maintaining the promise to revitalise the Canadian He resource industry.
This first-of-its-kind He purification site, which is owned and operated by Weil whilst the Tier One corporation handled the design and engineering of the facility, uses Linde’s pioneering hybrid process of membrane and pressure swing adsorption (PSA) technology.
The plant represents a $12m investment and uses a unique process to enrich wellhead gas with a 1-2% He concentration into a high-grade, industrial quality product at 99.99% purity.
