Corus has commissioned Linde to build an ASU in the Netherlands

The steel and aluminium producer Corus has commissioned Linde to build an air separation unit in IJmuiden, the Netherlands.

The investment volume totals €75m.

The facility is being built in the context of the planned increase in steel production, for which the new air separator will supply oxygen.

“This is the largest on-site facility of its type run by Linde itself,” says Dr. Aldo Belloni, member of the Executive Board of Linde AG and responsible for the business segment Gas and Engineering. Lindes Dutch subsidiary Hoek Loos B.V will oversee the project. The new ASU, which will replace four older Linde facilities, is scheduled for completion in mid-2009.
