Cryogenic equipment manufacturer Cryolor has today announced its investment in a purpose built, state-of-the-art manufacturing facility near Chennai, India, scheduled for completion in 2009 and immediately allowing the company to build on its well established customer base in South Asia.
The planned facility will result in a 15,000 square-meter plant built on 40,000 square-meters of land and will produce a wide range of cryogenic bulk tanks, from small to super large sizes, also benefiting from the location’s close proximity to the Chennai port complex.
In addition to a domestic gas industry expanding at a rate close to 10% per year and forecasts that India could be the 5th or 6th largest market within the next 20 years, India is also perceived to be providing excellent skilled engineers and workers, and offers all the raw materials necessary to manufacture Cryolor’s products.
To oversee workshop construction and product manufacturing launch, the company has appointed Ravin Mirchandani as managing director of Cryolor India.
