A new cryogenic system for capturing high-value elements of hemp and cannabis plants is being trialled by Colorado-based CryoMass Technologies.
Occupying 160 square feet of floor space, the patented system operates with ultra-cold liquid nitrogen to offer time, cost and quality advantages to any large-scale cultivator or processor of hemp or cannabis.
With real-time trials now in full swing, CryoMass Technology hopes to determine the most efficient throughput rates for different types of gross plant material and measure the percentage of a plant’s valuable cannabinoids that are captured by the system at various setting of system controls.
Already preliminary results have shown efficient throughput rates are between 400kg-600kg of gross material per hour and that capture rates are between 96%-97% at the settings tested.
