Dearman has been shortlisted for two Institution of Engineering and Technology Awards in the Start-Up and Emerging Technology categories.
Dearman’s zero-emission transport refrigeration system has been shortlisted for the Emerging Technology award. The system is based on the Dearman Engine, which is powered by the rapid expansion of liquid nitrogen to delivery highly efficient and cost-effective zero-emission power and cooling. Later this year, the system will enter its first real-world commercial field trial, with partners soon to be announced.
The company has also been shortlisted for an award in the Start-Up category. Established in 2011, Dearman has grown rapidly and now employs more than 50 people. The company is rapidly bringing liquid nitrogen-powered technologies to the market. At the newly opened Dearman Technology Centre, in Croydon, the company’s innovative cold and power technologies are developed and tested by a team of more than 30 engineers, analysts and designers.
