Dearman doubles size of R&D centre ahead of advanced system trials

Clean technology outfit Dearman is doubling the size of its research and development (R&D) centre in Croydon, UK, to support expanded trials of its revolutionary nitrogen-powered engine.

The planned expansion will allow Dearman to assemble an increasing number of engines and refrigeration systems, and will enable the company to integrate its technology onto vehicles as well as conduct whole system testing on site.

The extended facility will also provide more space to house Dearman’s advanced technology programme, which is developing further applications of the Dearman Engine for use in transport, logistics and the built environment.

The expansion move comes ahead of further trials of the UK-based company’s novel piston engine, which uses the expansion of either liquid air or liquid nitrogen to provide zero-emission power and cooling.
