A liquefied biogas (LBG) plant to be built in Denmark will allow ships to bunker clean fuel directly from dock, enabling the shipping industry to reduce emissions and increase refuelling efficiency.
Having recently started construction on the new facility, Nordliq plans to begin supplying LBG to both ships and trucks from the summer of 2023, aiding in the decarbonisation of an industry responsible for 3% of global of CO2 emissions each year.
According to the company, the plant will initially produce 20,000 tonnes of LBG per year, scale-able up to 120,000 tonnes.
