The UK’s Dragon liquefied natural gas (LNG) import plant being built will not now be accepting delivery of any LNG until early 2008 after delays to the project, despite having been expected to finish by the fourth quarter of 2007.
The Dragon facility at Milford Haven is 90% complete but will not take delivery of LNG until later than planned, according to a spokesman for developer BG Group.
“The completion of Dragon LNG has slipped into 2008,” confirmed the spokesman.
As gas companies respond to increasing demand for fuel, 2 LNG terminals are being built at the site in southwest Wales and BG will run the Dragon facility with Malaysia’s Petronas, while the nearby South Hook project led by Qatar Petroleum and Exxon Mobil is not expected to be ready until the summer of 2008.
