UK-based renewable energy company Drax is one of 12 ‘green’ companies selected to partake in the UK Government’s Global Investment Summit taking place 19th October (this year).
Drax will showcase its bioenergy with carbon capture and storage (BECCS) negative emissions technology, for which its aims to source 80% of construction materials and services from within the UK.
The event comes ahead of UN climate conference COP26, to be held in Glasgow between 31st October and 12th November 2021.
In addition to contributing to the UK’s net zero-by-2050 targets by capturing and storing carbon emissions, Drax’s BECCS technologies could see the creation of thousands of jobs in Northern England.
