Dutch floating LNG plant expected in early August

A liquefied natural gas (LNG) import terminal is set to arrive at Eemshaven port in Groningen in early August this year (2022).

Dutch energy firm Gasunie will connect the plant to the nationwide gas pipeline network, taking charge of distributing the gas across the Netherlands. 

Ahead of the plant departing Singapore in May, Ulco Vermeulen, Member of the Executive Board, Gasunie, said, “We will now enter further negotiations with potential customers.” 

“They will be the ones who will be using our terminal in the near future, initially for LNG, and later for green hydrogen. We will be operating it under the name EemsEnergyTerminal.”
