Edwards has unveiled plans to open a new dry pump manufacturing facility in the Western New York Science and Technology Advanced Manufacturing Park (WNY STAMP) in Genesee County.
The vacuum pumps supplier said it will invest $319m in the project, which will create around 600 skilled jobs. Phase one will see the development of a 240,000 sq ft hi-tech manufacturing site that will cost approximately $127m.

News of the project comes at a time of increased activity in the semiconductor space. Over the past year, many of Edwards’ customers have announced investment plans in the US, and the new facility is being built anticipating that emerging need.
