Sustainable energy project specialist Gen X Energy and oil and gas exploration expert ACE Enexor have entered a joint venture (JV) to develop Batangas Clean Energy, Inc’s (BCE) 1.1-gigawatt (GW) combined cycle power plant project based in the Batangas Bay area of the Philippines.
The sustainable energy-fuelled plant will help the country meet its growing energy demand, in addition to contributing to the reduction of its reliance on coal fire power generation.
Capable of using liquified natural gas (LNG) and green hydrogen as fuel to provide power to the Philippines energy grid, the project will also lower the sector’s carbon emissions as part of the energy transition.
Commenting on the JV, Scott Kicker, Founder, CEO, Gen X Energy, said, “We are excited about this opportunity to partner with ACE Enexor in the Philippines to meet the energy needs of the Philippines and facilitate the country’s transition to clear sustainable sources of energy.”
