As part of its goal to increase the country’s energy security, Ukraine is beginning the first stage of its preparations to join the European Association for the Cooperation of Transmission System Operators (ENTSO-E).
As part of this preparation, the entire Ukrainian energy system will operate in isolation mode from the 24th to 26th February 2022.
Additional measures aimed at synchronising energy systems are scheduled to be completed in 2023.
Speaking at the Renpower Ukraine 2022 forum held in Kiev on 17th February, Maris Kunickis, CEO, DTEK Renewables (DTEK), said that the integration into European networks and new investments will bring the price of green energy closer to market rates.
