US-based Energy Transfer LNG Export, LLC (Energy Transfer) will supply 2.1 million tonnes per annum (MTPA) of liquefied natural gas (LNG) to energy giant Shell as part of a new deal.
Affirmed under a 20-year Supply and Purchase Agreement (SPA), the partnership will see Energy Transfer providing the LNG to Shell group company Shell NA LNG LLC (Shell NA) from its Lake Charles LNG project.
Located in Louisiana, the Lake Charles LNG export facility has now been contracted for nearly eight MTPA of LNG, having announced six SPAs in the last five months.
Commenting on the deal, Tom Mason, President, Energy Transfer LNG, said, “We believe that Lake Charles is the most competitive LNG project on the Gulf Coast.”
