ENN Clean Fuels, a world leader in natural gas solutions, has opened a hi-tech liquefied natural gas (LNG) refuelling station at a well-known supermarket’s distributor centre in Zaandam, the Netherlands.
Albert Heijn is setting the global precedent for using LNG as a cleaner replacement for diesel in heavy duty road transportation and is rolling out LNG-powered trucks to form a ‘clean’ fleet for distributing goods.
In conjunction with logistics service provider, Simon Loos, Albert Heijn introduced 30 LNG-powered trucks to its fleet back in 2011, which was a world first at the time and still represents the biggest LNG-fleet for this type of transport activity to date.
