ExxonMobil appoints President of Low Carbon Solutions

Dan Ammann has been appointed as President of ExxonMobil Low Carbon Solutions, a division of the US-based firm that seeks to pursue opportunities in carbon capture and storage, hydrogen and other low-emissions fuels.

Confirming the appointment on Tuesday (22nd March), ExxonMobil said the former General Motors president will begin his tenure on 1st May, replacing Joe Blommaert, who has elected to retire after 35 years of service.

Darren Woods, CEO and Chairman of ExxonMobil, said, “We welcome Dan to ExxonMobil and will use his knowledge and experience to continue to build out Low Carbon Solutions business.”

“I thank Joe for his contributions to the company’s success and the significant progress made in developing our lower-emissions business. I wish Joe al the best in retirement.”
