The first Grasys industrial membrane plant in Russia for helium recovery from natural gas has been successfully tested at the Kovykta gas and condensate field.
A joint project between Gazprom OJSC and RPC Grasys in the field of helium production, the plant is one of the first major pieces of equipment deployed in the development of the East Siberian Gas Programme.
During the acceptance testing, the membrane two-stage helium recovery plant of Grasys was inspected by the joint commission of Gazprom OJSC, Gazprom dobycha Irkutsk LLC, Gazprom dobycha Noyabrsk LLC, Gazprom Razvitie LLC, Central Petroleum Instrument Design Bureau of Gazprom OJSC and Gazprom VNIIGAZ OJSC.
